What is present?
Name state, story, body, stakes, context, conditions, and power without pretending certainty.
A framework for meeting complexity
The Integrative Dualities Method helps people notice what is shaping a moment, widen the view, and choose a response they can learn from.

The distinction
StateWhat is active deserves to be heard.
ContextInternal experience and external conditions must both remain visible.
ActionThe next move is chosen intentionally, then revised as needed.
The pattern
Fear, shame, anger, grief, desire, and other states can signal, protect, predict, communicate, and respond to real conditions. Difficulty may grow when one process disproportionately narrows identity, judgment, relationship, or action.
The practice
IDM creates enough space to examine the moment, respond proportionately, and learn from what actually happens.
Name state, story, body, stakes, context, conditions, and power without pretending certainty.
Widen perspective, establish safety, and hold tension long enough to avoid a false either-or.
Choose a values-oriented move, observe its effects and possible harms, and revise as needed.
Meet the eight states
These are ordinary human states—not diagnoses, fixed identities, or a ladder of human worth.

IDM does not arrive as the same package everywhere. The language, evidence, power, responsibility, and application change with the setting. The underlying inquiry remains accountable: what is present, what requires priority, what action fits, and what did we learn?
Evidence with integrity
IDM has not yet been directly studied as a complete framework. Its practices draw from established areas of psychology and clinical work, and each claim should be judged on the evidence that actually supports it.
